The Deschutes River begins high in the Cascade mountain range south of Bend. The river carves its path north through over 200 miles of eastern Oregon before flowing into the Columbia River near The Dalles, Oregon. The "Lower Deschutes" is the 100-mile river reach that begins at Pelton Dam (near Lake Billy Chinook) and continues to the mouth of the river. The lower river flows through a fantastic basalt canyon with tremendous views, sage brush, deciduous tree lined banks, osprey, deer, and loaded with exciting rapids.

The Deschutes River is one of the most popular rafting rivers in Oregon. Reasons for its popularity include its proximity to Portland and Bend (less than 100 miles), warm sunshine, dependable summer river flows, and easy access to numerous exciting but safe rapids.

We welcome individual, family and corporate group trips. Special arrangements can be made for chartered trips of various lengths and river locations. However we do require a minimum number of participants to block off an entire departure date.
Shuttle service is provided from the take out point back to the put-in point for one driver per vehicle on one-day trips, Since overnight trips cover greater distances car shuttle service is required and a separate fee of $60.00 per vehicle is charged.

The Deschutes River is the most popular whitewater rafting river in Oregon. It is so popular that there is limited space available for booking on Fridays, Saturday and Sunday from June through August. We encourage you to schedule your trip Monday through Thursday if possible. There is another advantage for doing this due to reduced river permit fees which is reflected in our trip prices.
